The City of Man

Introduction:

The first city in the Bible that was built by man is found in Gen. 4:17. Where the first born son of Adam constructed a city named after his first born son, Enoch. Throughout history mankind men have built cities, some dedicated to the glory of man and others to the glory of God. Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian King built one of the greatest architectural marvels for his own fame and glory. Dan. 4:30. This is such a contrast from the city that King David built which was constructed for the worship and glory of God. Psalm 48:1, 8
