Revelation 6:1-17

Six Seals of Judgment

Here in this chapter we see unfolded before our eyes a grim picture of false Christ’s, bloody conquest, famine, pestilence and earthquakes which are not particularly new when it comes to apocalypse writings in the Bible, which are well known and rooted in the Old Testament. In fact you might wonder why John wept at the prospect of such well known contents. But there is something new here, it involves the church and it’s suffering for the cause of Christ and His gospel. There is the newness of the ultimate where before famine, pestilence and troubles came and then later dissipated. But here it is entirely cataclysmic there is a complete shaking of the heavens and the earth, a complete renovation of the universe. But before all this takes place the church will be caught up in the clouds with Christ and then He pours out His wrath upon the wicked. Psalm 2:4-6
