Philippians 1:3-5

Genuine Fellowship

Introduction:

We see that Paul’s benediction to the Corinthians perhaps best summarizes the full depth and breath of Christian fellowship. “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God the Father and fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (II Cor. 13:18) Paul establishes the very beginning of our fellowship even before we were born in the elective love of God the Father choosing us. The justifying grace of the Son of God comes to us by the atoning work of Christ upon the cross, and finally the Sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit begins at our regeneration and continues on in this life and will come to completion at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
